“We’re so awkward in front of the camera!” This is something I hear a lot believe it or not! If you booked a session with me, you’re in luck because I’m here to help you feel excited and confident while having your photos taken. Making sure my couples and clients are comfortable in front of the camera as well as given guidance on how to pose or move is a cornerstone of my approach.

While I’m here to guide you through poses and prompts, I understand that being in front of the camera can feel a bit intimidating. So, let’s dive into four tips that will not only make you more comfortable but also add a touch of magic (and confidence) to your session!

1. Always have a point of connection

2. Movement is key!

3. Candid Convos

4. Don’t rush out of the moments

Keep scrollin’! This is where I’ll get into detail 🙂

1. Always have a point of connection

Always have a point of connection with your partner. Whether it’s holding hands, sharing a hug, stealing a kiss, rubbing your partner’s back or arm, or even a playful squeeze – these moments of physical connection not only translate beautifully on camera but also create an atmosphere of intimacy. Feel free to express your love in your own unique way; it’s these genuine gestures that make your photos uniquely yours.

2. Movement is key!

Main character vibes? YES! Act like you’re the stars in a movie! Movement brings photos to life, so don’t be afraid to sway, twirl, dance, skip, etc. Adding a dynamic element to your poses not only creates visually captivating shots but also helps you feel more at ease. So, let loose, and let the magic happen as you move through the space.

3. Candid Conversations

Have conversations between yourselves! Engage in conversations with your partner – share stories, reminisce about special moments, or simply enjoy each other’s company. Candid shots of genuine laughter and connection often come from these unscripted moments. It’s not just about the poses; it’s about capturing the essence of your relationship.

4. Don’t rush out of the moments

Many of my favorite shots happen in the in-between moments. After a pose, take a breath, linger in the hug, and let the moment unfold naturally. If I ask you to whisper something sweet or funny to your partner, stay in that embrace a little longer. Don’t rush out of the moment; let it linger, and you’ll be surprised by the beautiful images we capture.

Remember, this photo shoot is a celebration of your unique story. Embrace the joy, laughter, and connection, and we’ll create memories that will last a lifetime.
