Set the Scene: A rainy romantic evening in Hoboken, New Jersey

Choosing a location isn’t always the challenge when it comes to planning your engagement session. For some, like Courtney and Dom their challenge was the weather! We originally planned to take their photos at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, NJ, but the weather on their first date had other plans. Luckily I had another spot available on my calendar in December and we rescheduled asap! Fast forward to the weekend of their session and what was in the forecast? Rain…again.. ugh! With their wedding coming up in November and Save the Dates to be sent, Courtney and Dom switched gears and we ended up taking their engagement photos at such cool locations! One of them turned out to be the spot where Dom asked Courtney to be his girlfriend – HOW FREAKIN CUTE 😭🥰

As the rain came down, Courtney and Dom met me at the Hoboken PATH Terminal, which proved to be more than just a place to hide out from the rain. We started inside the terminal’s waiting room which is known for it’s Beaux-Arts architecture and has been serving the community for over 100 years. We captured the most fun flash portraits inside this area! There’s nothing better than capturing cool photos for such a cool couple. As we were walking toward the trains, the terminal departure board caught our eyes so you knowww we had to take some photos in front of it! After this, we decided to test our luck and head outside in the potential rain storm (we were inside so we had no idea of it was still raining out!) With a clear umbrella, these two were all giggles and embraced the rain with the biggest smiles on their faces! Before we wrapped up their session, we headed a block over to get some of the most adorable city vibe photos where Courtney and Dom walked the streets and executed the most perfect dip kiss. Oh I almost forgot to mention, it was in front of the place that turned out to be the EXACT spot where Dom asked Courtney to be his girlfriend – Artichoke Pizza!!! After their perfect dip kiss, they celebrated by sharing a slice and warming up inside. We love a full circle moment.

Thank you for embracing the last minute changes and the unpredictable weather – this turned out to be such a fun session and it wouldn’t have been possible without your positivity and amazing energy. I’m so excited to celebrate you two (and lots of familiar faces) on your wedding day in November at The View on the Hudson! <3
