Set the Scene: A cool Winter evening at the Asbury Park Beach & Boardwalk, NJ

There’s nothing better than a cool December day in a New Jersey beach town during the off season. Mat and Lauren chose one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions, and in general – the Asbury Park Boardwalk! Asbury Park is the perfect mix of beach, boardwalk, art, and old school vibes. We strolled along the iconic AP Boardwalk and started their session by the murals, then made our way onto the beach and finished up with some ice cream! During their whole session these two were non stop laughs and smiles. Mid session it only felt right to stop for a little dance party on the sand, which of course I had to capture! I always encourage my couple’s to play music during their session and Mat chose to play Bleachers who all 3 of us love! Mat, Lauren and I all saw Bleacher pre-covid on the Stone Pony Summer Stage 🤩

Their Love Story
Mat and Lauren met during the Summer of 2016. A summer camp love story! While working with the same group of campers, their paths crossed, sparking a connection that quickly blossomed into something more profound. Post-summer, their relationship flourished, rooted in shared memories and a mutual love for the camp.

Fast forward to 2021, back at the campgrounds, Mat led Lauren to a lakeside spot to propose, marking the beginning of their forever. Lauren’s joy was doubled when she learned that Mat had asked for her parents’ blessings – a gesture that deeply resonated with her values and family traditions.
