Set the Scene: A Modern Spring Wedding at Perona Farms The Reserve

Kayla and Victor’s wedding was an absolute dream! After a few days of rain, the weather held out beautifully for their special day. I had the pleasure of capturing Victor’s sister’s baby shower this past November, so walking into this wedding felt like reuniting with old friends. Knowing their parents and siblings made the day even more special. It was also a delightful surprise to see some of my past couples as guests. Jordan and Cole, a wedding couple of mine, and Alex and Connor, who I did a maternity session for, were both there!I

Their wedding party was as kind and lively as these two, filling the day with jokes and laughter. The dance floor was electrifying—friends lifted Victor and Kayla into the air, and the massive dance floor was packed all night long! One of my favorite moments was during the first dances with their moms. Kayla and her mom danced together, and the whole crowd, including myself, was in tears. When Victor danced with his mom, Kayla and her mom embraced in the background, shedding tears. Towards the end, Kayla, her mom, and Victor’s dad shared a heartfelt hug. Such a sweet and unforgettable moment! 🥹

Their Love Story

Kayla and Victor’s love story began at church, where they met in a small group during their college years. Despite Victor being away at school, Kayla’s friends mentioned him, but it wasn’t until winter break that they finally crossed paths. A planned group outing fell through, but that didn’t stop them. Kayla texted Victor, and they ended up getting coffee. From that spontaneous coffee date, their connection only grew stronger, especially when COVID allowed them to spend more time together than they had initially expected.

The proposal was nothing short of a fairy tale. On February 11, Victor went all out to surprise Kayla. He created a fake website for a financial planning class for young couples and had one of Kayla’s friends send it to her. Completely fooled, she went to the Frelinghuysen Arboretum where Victor popped the question. Their families were hiding in the bushes, adding to the magic of the moment. That night, they celebrated with a surprise engagement party, feeling the love and excitement from everyone around them. It truly was the best day, and they were on cloud nine for over a week!

Currently, Kayla and Victor are eagerly anticipating moving in together after their wedding. They’re also super excited about their honeymoon in Hawaii, a destination neither has visited before.

Their perfect date night involves exploring city spots for dinner and drinks, followed by spontaneous adventures. While Kayla is a planner, Victor’s spontaneity balances their relationship perfectly, pushing her to live in the moment and enjoy each day as it comes.
