Jackie and Gerald’s Vintage Vibes Summer Whitechapel Projects Wedding

Jackie and Gerald’s wedding was one for the books — their day was all about having a dang good time and was giving vintage vibes in the best way possible. Their summer Whitechapel Projects wedding day kicked off with Jackie and her fun-loving crew. We wasted no time with a champagne pop outside since it was a stunning day, setting the perfect tone for what was to come. The getting-ready moments were full of love and laughter and were a true manifestation of how the day was to be! Some of my favorite parts about capturing weddings are the in-between moments. The unplanned first look with dad – truly unplanned, he walked in the door and I captured his real reaction of seeing his only daughter as a bride on her wedding day. No staging, and no planning necessary! I also caught some sweet shots of Jackie helping her mom with her jewelry before the roles reversed, and her mom helped Jackie slip into her wedding dress.

WCP’s blend of vintage charm and modern design made it the perfect backdrop for Jackie and Gerald’s unforgettable wedding day! Whitechapel Projects (WCP) in Long Branch, NJ, is a unique, industrial-chic venue perfect for couples looking for something non-traditional. Once a 19th-century building, it now features a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces with exposed brick, art installations, and a cool microbrewery.

Now, if you know me, you know I’m all about non-traditional details, and Jackie’s floral-patterned wedding dress, hair piece, and super fun veil screamed coolest bride ever. Seriously. Gerald matched her energy perfectly, rocking a killer burgundy suit with an awesome clip chain detail on his tie. He was definitely giving off coolest groom vibes all day.

These two decided to keep things a little traditional by skipping the first look—this was actually my second wedding this year without one! One of my favorite parts of the day? Their first dance! They kept their song a secret and surprised everyone by dancing to “Always” by Blink 182. The best part? They threw in an effortless dip, with Jackie’s perfectly pointed toe—no surprise since she danced practically her whole life. It’s those little details that make the moment.

Before the sun set, Jackie and Gerald snuck outside for some epic photos with their friends’ vintage red car parked in front of the venue. These pictures were pure vibes and felt like the exact vision they had for their wedding day. And then, let’s talk about their cake cutting—it was an event. The DJ (Shout out to my Uncle Ron at One Way Entertainment DJs!) got involved, cracking jokes with the couple and hyping up the crowd. It’s rare to see so many people so excited about a cake cutting, but these two made it a moment.

As soon as that cake was cut, Jackie and Gerald hit the dance floor and didn’t leave it the rest of the night. It was all about fun, laughter, and dancing the night away—exactly how a wedding should be.
