University of Maryland Graduation Session with UMD Tri Delta’s

One spring evening, I found myself at The Hall CP working, and just enjoying being out of my office. Amidst the hustle and bustle, a group of girls repeatedly caught my eye as they laughed and chatted at the bar. Usually, I’m not one to strike up conversations with strangers while working, but their infectious energy drew me in. I leaned over and asked if they were graduating and interested in photos. To my delight, they were! That’s how I met Julia, a sweet and enthusiastic student who coordinated a group of eight for a graduation photo session a few weeks later. Our session began at McKeldin Mall, a central and picturesque spot at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. We started by capturing shots around the beautiful buildings surrounding the mall. The girls’ excitement was palpable, making the photo session even more enjoyable for me. Their enthusiasm and love for taking photos truly made my job a breeze!

We lined up for photos at the iconic fountain, where the girls popped some champagne and celebrated their achievements with joyous cheers. Their camaraderie was heartwarming, and after a celebratory splash in the fountain, we headed over to RJ Bentley’s, a beloved local bar with a rich history as a staple hangout spot for UMD students. The back bar was closed, but we were encouraged to take photos there, capturing the fun vibe and making lasting memories.

RJ Bentley’s has long been a favorite among University of Maryland students. Established in 1978, it has been a cornerstone of the College Park nightlife scene, known for its casual atmosphere, delicious pub food, and strong community ties. Many UMD alumni have fond memories of their time spent at Bentley’s, making it the perfect location for some final undergrad snapshots.
