Set the Scene: Romantic Sunset Couple Session at Mickler’s Landing

This April, I had the pleasure of capturing a couple’s session for Kayla and Tyler at the beautiful Mickler’s Landing in Ponte Vedra, Florida. It was the perfect way to kick off a weekend bachelorette party in Fort Lauderdale for one of my cousins. I decided to head down to Florida a bit early to enjoy some vacation time and to spend quality time with Kayla and Tyler, who have been together for two years.

We ventured to a stunning Florida beach for a sunset photoshoot. Tyler wasn’t quite sure what to expect—like many guys, he dreaded the idea of taking photos. However, I always strive to make these sessions fun and engaging for everyone involved. I love to joke that engagement sessions are a bit of a workout because I focus on capturing couples moving around, laughing, and enjoying each other’s company.

The evening was perfect—comfortable and cool, with a gentle breeze and a beautiful sunset that provided the ideal backdrop for our session. Kayla and Tyler had so much fun, and it truly shows in the photos. This was their first professional photoshoot together, and they were naturals. Tyler, in particular, surprised himself by how much he enjoyed the session. He initially thought it would be a lot of “stand there and say cheese,” but he ended up having a great time, which made me incredibly happy to hear.

I’m always down to travel for sessions and weddings, and I feel really inspired when I discover new locations for photoshoots. Mickler’s Landing was no exception—it provided a fresh and exciting environment that perfectly matched the vibe of Kayla and Tyler’s relationship.

Capturing these special moments with you was truly a highlight of my trip. Kayla, it’s always been a joy watching you grow, and seeing the love and happiness you and Tyler share is heartwarming. Tyler, your willingness to jump in and enjoy the session made it all the more special. I loved seeing you both relax and have fun, creating beautiful memories on that gorgeous beach.
