Set The Scene: A Warm Autumn Evening in Jersey City

If you live in New Jersey, you know there are so many great locations and types of places to take photos, so narrowing it down to 1 or 2 for your photo session isn’t always easy! A few days before their session, Javier and Brian chose their engagement session locations and I love that they picked a city that plays a big role in their story! We started the session at Van Vorst Park in Jersey City, NJ. The scenery and colors in this park complimented their outfits and their down to earth vibe so well. After our stroll around the park we got in our cars and headed to Pier A Park! It was such a beautiful Fall evening so it was no surprise that the park was packed for sunset! Luckily we were able to capture some sweet moments and lots of laughter by the water without any interruptions or photobombers.

When Javier and Brian originally booked me, it was for their engagement so when they brought up their wedding as we were wrapping up and saying our goodbyes I was beyond excited because these two are the type of couple I love working with – so down to earth, kind, and thoughtful! 🫶🏼

Their Love Story:
I truly loveddd reading what Javier shared with me about their story! It only feels right to share this from his perspective so here it is, “We had no plans on meeting! I was just out with my sister and cousin at a bar in Jersey City and he was there too with his best friend. He has a different version! We approached each other and then we left the bar and I bought him and his friend pizza and asked him on a date that night! The funny thing is I was so close to not going out that night because I was tired, but I’m glad I did! Brian was the one who proposed back in April. I had no idea it was happening. After the proposal he told me that he had it planned for over a month. He met with my parents and my sisters before proposing and asked them for their blessing which I thought was amazing! I’m a teacher so I was on spring break and we did sort of like a staycation. We went to Jersey City, ate Italian food, and booked a hotel for the night. After dinner and a drink we walked back to the hotel and the room was a dream. I thought I walked into the wrong room and when I turned around he was on his knee with the ring! His two best friends prepared the room for him! It was an incredible moment!” HOW SWEET 🥹!!
