Sophia’s UMD Graduation Session

It was such a beautiful day to take graduation photos around the University of Maryland campus! Sophia was so photogenic and a joy to photograph. As we spent time together, I loved learning how UMD is a big part of her family’s story. Both of her parents attended Maryland and met there! They joined us for photos at the beginning of her session, and of course I had to grab a few photos of mom and dad back at their old stomping grounds – Go Terps! As an English major, Sophia spent much of her time at Tawes Hall. She was also involved in Alpha Chi Omega and Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK), the national leadership honor society. I loved getting to include places connected to her time at UMD in this session!

We took photos at Tawes Hall, then captured more portraits along Willow Walk and around McKeldin Mall. We stopped at the Maryland Natives Shade Garden, the columns and stairs surrounding the mall, and the ODK Fountain. ODK members’ names are engraved in the fountain’s stones, making it an especially fitting place to photograph Sophia!

Thank you for letting me capture your graduation! You were so much fun to photograph, and I hope these photos always remind you of all of the fun times you had in college! I can’t wait to see your name engraved on the fountain at future graduation sessions! Congratulations! <3
